WW1 - April 2014

On the 7th April 2014, 50 people set out from Caddington Village School to visit the Somme battlefields and remember the millions of men that died fighting for their country. Four days later we had visited many sites including Wellington Quarry, Lochnagar Crater, Thiepval and Newfoundland Park. We visited the grave of local war hero John Collings-Wells at Bouzingcourt Ridge Cemetery and even attended the 97th anniversary ceremony at Vimy Ridge which was a very special occasion.

It will be a trip that all involved will remember for a very long time.

We would like to thank everyone involved for making it such a fantastic trip.
