Caddington Village School

Caddington Community Champions

To support their personal development and foster our culture of belonging, all Key Stage two pupils and some Key Stage one will have a specific leadership responsibility that they will fulfil across the academic year. They will become Community Champions, in different specialist areas. These roles also help strengthen our schools’ values of Belong, Believe, Achieve.

Throughout their time with us, all of our pupils will be given the opportunity to be part of the Community Champion Team to take responsibility for systems and processes which support the running of our school and which they can see make a difference and help others.

School Councillor

School Councillors are the elected representative of each class and are expected to be the voice of their classmates.  They will represent the school at important public occasions and events. They will support senior staff with interviews and will carry out tours of the school. As a school representative, they will participate in making decisions about their school, along with staff and school governors.

Reading Champions

Reading Champions promote our school’s Love for Reading ethos. They encourage others in school to read more by reading with them and recommending books. They will help staff to maintain the reading areas and displays around the school and assist with reading assemblies and events.

Junior Journalists

Junior Journalists will share the news and events that happen in our school by writing articles for the Village magazine and our social media pages. They will also contribute to school newsletters.

Maths Masters

Maths Masters ensure that all of our maths resources are kept neat and tidy. They support pupils with their learning of the times tables and support the Maths Lead to promote Maths across the school.

Wellbeing Warriors

Wellbeing Warriors will support children in the five ways to wellbeing and will inform staff if they see children who are worried or upset. They will monitor lunchtimes and playtimes and ensure that children are playing kindly.

Sport Leaders

The Sports Leaders will plan, organise and deliver a variety of sports activities during the year with the support of our Sports Coach. They will support children at play times and lunchtimes in sporting activities and will make sure that the P.E equipment is stored correctly. They will play a key role in the planning and implementation of Sports Day.

Digital Leaders

Digital Leaders will support staff during assemblies by setting up and controlling the equipment. They will deliver assemblies on online safety to the school and will support staff in monitoring good behaviour online as well as demonstrating model behaviour.

Learning Environment

The children who are the champions for our learning environment will make sure that the school is looking the best it can be. They will check displays around the school and let staff know if they need replacing or fixing. They will also make sure that lost property is returned to its owners or placed in the Lost Property area. At lunchtime, they will support younger pupils with clearing their plates and assist with the smooth running of this time.
